DMZ #65

Part of Vertigo's mature-readers war drama, DMZ #65 brings Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli's "Free States Rising" arc to its Manhattan conclusion. John Paul Leon's cover sets a tense, subdued mood: two figures — one carrying a camera, the other gear-laden and wary — stand inside what appears to be a large windowed building, while through the glass a military helicopter and a crowd of people can be seen outside in the hazy distance. The restrained blue-and-tan palette and quiet, watchful body language perfectly capture the series' grounded, conflict-zone atmosphere.
