District X #4
Part of David Hine's gritty Marvel Knights street-level series, this fourth chapter of the "Mr. M" arc captures the mysterious heart of Mutant Town in a single striking image. Steve McNiven and Mark Morales's cover shows a shirtless figure in a fedora and suspenders suspended in midair, arms outstretched, bathed in ethereal light as the darkened city skyline looms on either side. It's a quietly powerful visual — equal parts saint and street survivor — that sets a compelling tone for Lan Medina's interiors.

Bishop and Izzy investigate the death of a human girl at one of Daniel Kaufman's clubs who took the mutant drug Toad Juice and died. They view the surveillance footage and watch as the girl's human boyfriend takes off with a whole bag full of the drug. They also notice a strange dark figure in the background. Mr. M visits Kaufman's operation and uses his mutant power to turn Toad Boy into a normal human, wiping out the sole source of Toad Juice. Not realizing the drugs lethal effects, the boy who stole them decides to have a party. Izzy learns that Gus is being removed from the force.
