“A Chance For Romance”

Marvel's 1994 launch of Disney's Beauty and the Beast kicks off with a cover by penciler Barb Rausch and inker Dave Hunt that beautifully sets the mood: the brooding Beast looms large in the foreground, draped in his purple cloak, while Belle — in her signature blue and white — looks on with wide-eyed surprise from the ornate, curtained interior of the enchanted castle. The banner promises "All New Stories," and the first of them, "A Chance For Romance," is crafted by writer Barbara Slate with art by Cosme Quartieri, inks by Carlos Valenti, colors by Greg Wright, and lettering by Janice Chiang. A charming addition to any shelf of Disney comics adaptations from this era.
