"Duck Avenger Strikes Again! Chapter 1 of 2" brings together the legendary storytelling of Romano Scarpa, Carl Barks, and Joe Torcivia, with Scarpa’s art and Sandro Zemolin’s inks lending timeless flair to a tale where Scrooge’s wits are tested by a money-scented perfume and a mysterious princess from a forgotten realm. Cover by Andrea Freccero, this 2019 Fantagraphics release sees Brigitta’s vacation take an unexpected turn when she stumbles upon an ancient civilization, leading to a mix-up that sets the stage for a royal mystery — and the return of the Duck Avenger.

Hitta, heir to the throne of an ancient civilization, wants no part of its monarchy and escapes to the “modern world”. The Beagle Boys have Gyro create a money-scented perfume and sell it to Brigitta to muddle Scrooge’s mind. Scrooge falls hard for the scent and almost marries Brigitta before his nephews snap him out of it. Brigitta soothes her defeat with a vacation to the Bananias Archipelago, where she momentarily spies the runaway Hitta – and later falls into a cavern leading to the aforementioned lost civilization, where she is mistaken by the retiring queen for the missing Hitta.
