Part of Fantagraphics' Disney Masters series, it showcases Jippes' detailed artwork and storytelling as Scrooge hunts for sunken treasure while contending with the Beagle Boys and other rivals. The collection also includes additional short stories from the same creator, offering a focused look at his work with the Disney ducks.
"Operation Galleon Grab Part One" kicks off a swashbuckling treasure hunt when Scrooge receives a birthday gift that’s more than it seems: a model galleon hiding a cryptic parchment pointing to a sunken fortune near the Leeward Islands. With the Ducks on the move and the Beagle Boys in stealthy pursuit, the trail leads to a surprising encounter on the high seas—where Scrooge’s rival, John D. Rockerduck, reveals he’s also tracking the same lost gold, complete with his own matching model. Giorgio Cavazzano’s dynamic artwork and vivid colors bring the adventure to life, while the cover by Cavazzano captures the intrigue in bold, stylish detail.
In "Operation Galleon Grab Part One," Scrooge’s birthday gift—a model Spanish galleon—unlocks a mysterious map leading to a sunken treasure near the Leeward Islands. With the nephews in tow and the Beagle Boys in disguise hot on their trail, the Ducks set sail in a rickety boat, only to cross paths with John D. Rockerduck’s sleek yacht, where the nephews spy an identical model—raising more questions than answers.
In "Operation Galleon Grab Part Two," Uncle Scrooge and Rockerduck dive into a high-stakes underwater showdown for the golden treasure of a sunken galleon, while the Beagle Boys circle like vultures, ready to snatch the prize from the victor. Meanwhile, Huey, Dewey, and Louie face a terrifying run-in with a hungry shark in the deep.
When a factory mishap swaps diamonds for Chuggie Chockies in a thousand candy boxes, Uncle Scrooge sends Donald and Fethry on a wild chase to track down the one precious box among the rest. With the entire world now unknowingly holding a treasure, the duo must navigate a trail of sweet chaos before someone else finds the real prize.
When boredom strikes, Scrooge McDuck swaps lives with his alternate-universe twin from Earth-D—only to find that a different world means a different kind of challenge. What starts as a lark quickly turns into a test of wits, courage, and just how much one can handle when the rules of the game are completely different.
In "Here Today, Gone Apollo," Emil Eagle and Dangerous Dan McBoo pull off a daring heist, stealing a priceless statue from the Mouseton Museum and vanishing into the night. When Super Goof closes in, Emil lures him into a spooky, trap-filled haunted castle—where the real danger might not be the villain, but the shadows themselves.
In "There's No Fool Like an Old Fool," Donald, fixated on aging as his birthday approaches, drags Huey, Dewey, and Louie on a jungle expedition to find a legendary professor rumored to have invented a "youth juice." Uncle Scrooge, ever the frugal mind, funds the quest with a high-interest loan and tags along—less to help and more to ensure every penny is accounted for.
