The boys gift Scrooge a model of an old Spanish treasure galleon for his birthday. In a secret compartment of the model, they find a tattered parchment telling of a sunken galleon of gold somewhere in the vicinity of the Leeward Islands. The Ducks are off, surreptitiously followed by the disguised Beagle Boys. Once there, Scrooge buys a cheap used boat and the treasure hunt begins. Not far out to sea our heroes come across the stylish yacht of John D. Rockerduck. The suspicious nephews sneak aboard the yacht to find that Rockerduck has an identical Spanish galleon model in his possession.
