Disney Masters #17
In "Mickey Mouse and the Man from Altacraz [Chapter One]," the famed trio of Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy find themselves at the lavish estate of eccentric collector Rich Hogg, where a mysterious theft rocks a high-stakes art viewing. The centerpiece of Hogg’s collection—a fearsome four-armed statue of the goddess Kali, distinguished by a single long, ominous fingernail—has vanished, leaving the guests under suspicion and the local police uninterested. With Chief O’Hara dismissing the case as trivial, Mickey steps in as an amateur sleuth, diving into a web of intrigue that begins with a stolen nail and a forgotten legend. Written by Romano Scarpa, Alberto Becattini, and Byron Erickson, and illustrated by Scarpa with inks by Luciano Gatto and vibrant colors by Disney Italia, this story kicks off a thrilling adventure with a cover by Kari Korhonen.

Wealthy artifact collector Rich Hogg hosts a viewing of his collection at his mansion. Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy are invited along with several other guests from various walks of life. The pride of Hogg's collection is a statue of "Kali, goddess of death and destruction" - a sitting four-armed figure with a single long protruding fingernail on its uppermost right hand. During the reception, "Kail's nail" is stolen, with suspicion falling over each one of the guests. Chief O' Hara declines to take the case of a stolen fingernail, so Hogg turns to amatauer detective Mickey to solve the mystery.
