“The Case of Oodles' Hideout”

Harvey Comics delivers another complete detective adventure with "The Case of Oodles' Hideout," and the cover by Joe Simon puts you right in the thick of a tense winter standoff. Dick Tracy — unmistakable in his yellow coat and hat — shouts a surrender demand through a megaphone while a partner levels a tear-gas gun toward a snow-covered cabin where figures scramble in every direction. It's a crisp, kinetic snapshot of 1958 crime-fighting action, with Chester Gould's storytelling waiting inside.

While Tracy and Sam are searching, Oodles goes on a crash diet to lose enough weight as to be unrecognizable to the police. Losing so much weight also makes him angry and hungry. He makes the mistake of ordering a lot of food from a restaurant belonging to one of his crime associates, not knowing that Tracy has a hidden two-way wrist radio concealed in the restaurant office. As the restaurant delivers the food, Tracy and Sam prepare to close in.
