Sparkle and Wingy are returned safely home. Rainbow retraces her steps to her home and finds that only the foundation remains. She takes shelter in the storm cellar, where she has plenty of food and water. Tracy and Sam trail her to the storm cellar, and she is grateful they have found her. Tracy and Sam discover the fake hay bales when they investigate the murder of the farmer who was transporting the bales with stolen furs. Using clues from the bales, Tracy and Sam set out to capture Rughead and his henchmen.
