Tracy and Sam watch the tree where they found the baby and arrest the baby's mother for child abandonment when she comes back to leave the baby in the tree. Unknown to Tracy, Mrs. Green is working some kind of agreement with Sticks and Dewdrop Richy. Dewdrop has told her father that the baby is hers in order to get her father's inheritance. Sam and Tracy replace the baby with a doll and watch the tree, but a snowstorm hinders their efforts to catch the person who takes the doll from the tree.
