Rughead blindfolds Sparkle and Wingy and puts them in a car along with the sightless Rainbow Reiley. His intent is to shoot them, even though he tells them he take them home. While eluding the police, Rughead's driver takes a back road. A loose rock causes their headlights to malfunction, and Rughead is forced to stop the car and try to get away in the dark. Accustomed to moving in the dark, Rainbow leads the kids to safety. The flag down a local bus. The kids are taken to the hospital and later re-united with B. O. and Gertie. Rainbow falls asleep on the bus and does not disembark.
