“Come Here! I Need You!”

Part of DC's New 52 initiative, Dial H #3 brings China Miéville's weird-fiction sensibility to superhero comics, with art by Mateus Santolouco and a striking cover by Brian Bolland. That cover presents a pale, hooded red-haired woman holding the eerie, claw-encrusted H-Dial while a wide-eyed, heavyset man looks on with visible unease — the dial's rotary face spelling out "HERO" at its center, the whole image radiating an unsettling, otherworldly tension. Titled "Come Here! I Need You!" and stamped with the ominous tagline "DISCONNECTED!", this September 2012 issue promises the kind of strange, imaginative storytelling that made this series one of the New 52's more unconventional offerings.
