Demon Knights #3

Part of DC's New 52 medieval fantasy series, this January 2012 issue carries the ominous tag "Amidst the Battle — A Sacrifice!" — and the cover by Tony S. Daniel and Norm Rapmund delivers on that promise with raw intensity. Etrigan the Demon looms at center, his glowing maw stretched wide as he clutches a pale, seemingly lifeless figure, while a winged horse and an armored rider burst through flames in the background. Paul Cornell and Diógenes Neves continue building this dark, sword-and-sorcery corner of the DC Universe, and the cover alone makes it clear issue three isn't pulling any punches.
