Black Cat takes center stage on Terry and Rachel Dodson's cover, her white hair swept dramatically as she lunges forward with a confident grin — every bit the wild card among a team of heavyweights. Ranged behind her are Silver Surfer, a sword-wielding Namor, a red-clad warrior woman, Iron Fist, and a mustached figure armed with a cane, all mid-action and clearly ready for whatever impossible threat the tagline promises. Matt Fraction's 2012 run on The Defenders keeps delivering an eclectic, energetic ensemble, and this issue looks like no exception.
