The Defenders are "protecting humanity from the impossible" — and issue #11 makes that tagline feel entirely earned. Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson's cover plunges the team into a city-block brawl against a massive armored Sentinel-like machine, with Doctor Strange crackling blue mystic energy on the left, a white-haired woman in black (Silver Sable) wielding a baseball bat at center, a silver-skinned cosmic figure soaring overhead, and a scarred, heavily armed soldier squaring up in the foreground. With Matt Fraction writing and Mirco Pierfederici on interiors, colored by Jordie Bellaire, this 2012 installment has the look of a team stretched to its limits against overwhelming iron opposition.
