Jim Lee and Nick Manabat's cover for this 1993 Image title puts Deathblow front and center — a heavily armed, bandana-masked soldier standing resolute against a smoke-filled American flag backdrop, pistol leveled at the viewer and assault rifle gripped at his side, flames and bullet impacts erupting all around him. It's a striking portrait of a black-ops warrior who looks like he's already survived one explosion and is walking straight into another. Brandon Choi and Jim Lee continue the series here with a full creative team including colorists Joe Chiodo, Wendy Fouts, Paige Apfelbaum, and Ben Fernandez bringing the gritty WildStorm aesthetic to vivid life.
