Death Valley #8 is an anthology issue containing at least two stories. "Buckshot—Safety Alarm" features characters discussing an invention for a reverse burglar alarm. The main story follows a man named Bart who, after a stampede kills a horse, is accused of murder by a man named Blaze; Bart is eventually cleared of the charge at trial when Blaze's own testimony proves self-defense, and the issue concludes with Bart finally getting a good night's sleep.
