That painted cover by Vince Locke says everything you need to know about the tone of this series — a decaying, red-eyed zombie face fills the entire image, its yellowed teeth bared and rotting flesh rendered in vivid, unsettling detail. It's a visceral, technically impressive piece that makes the horror feel uncomfortably close and personal. Gary Reed and Vince Locke continue "Requiem for the World" with this second issue from Image/Desperado, and if the cover is any indication, they're not pulling any punches.
