The Contemplator has chosen the Deadpool Corps to stop a cosmic monster that sucks up the consciousness of entire worlds. His fellow Elders of the Universe aren't so keen on his choice of heroic champions so the Champion decides to put the Corps to the test by challenging them to a duel. They beat him--easily. As our heroes make a pit stop for food and fuel, the Champion catches back up with them and demands a rematch.
