“Dead Part One”

In "Dead Part One," Deadpool—still reeling from the death of his evil twin—makes a shocking decision: he wants to die. To that end, he tricks his X-Force teammates into helping him track down the creator of a serum that killed his doppelgänger, all while pretending he's being protected. Written by Daniel Way and illustrated by Carlo Barberi, with inks by Walden Wong and colors by Dono Almara, this emotionally charged issue sees Deadpool at his most desperate and unpredictable. The cover, by Dave Johnson, captures the moment with a haunting intensity.

Deadpool has just watched his evil double get shot with a serum that negated his healing factor and killed him dead. Deadpool wants to get shot with the same serum. He, too, wants to die. So, to this end, he dupes his X-Force teammates into an elaborate plot to flush out the serum's maker. Of course, he makes them think they are trying to protect him, not facilitate his untimely demise.
