Meanwhile, Killebrew’s bizarre experiment takes a shocking turn when he grafts Deadpool’s severed hand onto Black Tom, setting off a chain of unpredictable consequences. Written by Mark Waid and brought to life by Ian Churchill’s dynamic art and Bud LaRosa’s sharp inks, this 1994 issue blends relentless action with dark humor, all under a cover by Churchill and LaRosa.

History

After the relative commercial success of Fabian Nicieza and Joe Madureira's 1993 debut miniseries 'The Circle Chase,' Marvel ordered a follow-up, but editorial rejected Nicieza's proposed story — in which Deadpool's cancer returned and he hunted the scientists who created him — as too bleak. The assignment went instead to Mark Waid, who scripted all four issues of 'Sins of the Past'; it was notably Waid's first work for Marvel. Ian Churchill provided the primary pencils across the series, with Ken Lashley sharing art duties beginning in issue #3, inked by Bud LaRosa. The series editor was Suzanne Gaffney, with Bob Harras serving as group editor under editor-in-chief Tom DeFalco.
