Season 3 of De zang van de vampiers opens with "Nieuwe machten," and Guérineau's cover sets a chilling tone from the first glance. Two armored soldiers make their way through a snow-covered winter landscape, rifles in hand, while an enormous, roaring beast-like face looms phantom-like from the icy sky above them — a striking image of dread rendered in Malisan's cool blue palette.
