“Savage Steel”

Darkhawk lunges toward the viewer in full armored glory, energy beams slicing across the foreground while a heavily armed mechanical opponent — Savage Steel — looms in the background amid a storm of shattered debris. Mike Manley's cover crackles with kinetic energy, capturing the raw, hard-edged tone that defined this young series in 1991. If the "Savage Steel" tagline is any indication, Danny Fingeroth and the creative team are putting their blue-and-silver hero through his paces in a serious way.
