Dark X-Men #5

The five-issue Dark X-Men limited series reaches its conclusion with a cover by Giuseppe Camuncoli that crackles with tension — a bare-chested, power-surging figure blazes at the center, splitting the composition with a bolt of blue-white energy while the team closes in around him: Mystique leveling a gun, a fallen Omega figure on the ground, a hulking Beast-like form looming left, and an anguished winged figure pressing in from the right. Paul Cornell, Leonard Kirk, and colorist Brian Reber bring this "Journey to the Center of the Goblin" saga to a close in 2010 with a finale that looks every bit as chaotic and high-stakes as the series promised.
