The fourth chapter of this six-part Marvel limited series pulls no punches with a cover by Jae Lee that is all brooding tension and dread — a shirtless young man stands over a severed head resting on stone, while a gaunt, unsettling figure looms behind him, cloaked in shadow. The subtitle Treachery feels entirely earned as the image radiates betrayal and peril in equal measure. With Robin Furth, Peter David, and Stephen King guiding the story, this 2009 series remains one of the more ambitious adaptations of King's sprawling gunslinger mythology.
