Abigail denounces Victoria as a witch, turning her over to Reverend Trask for execution. After Victoria is hanged, Barnabas kills Abigail and buries Trask alive in the cellar of the Old House. Nathan Forbes, who married Millicent for her fortune, learns that she signed everything over to her younger brother Daniel, but he also discovers that the presumed-dead Barnabas is still alive, which he hopes to use to his advantage in some way.
