Dark Reign: The Hood #2

Part of Marvel's 2009 Dark Reign crossover, this second chapter of the five-issue Hood limited series finds Parker Robbins caught in a tense, multi-sided struggle — the cover by Marko Djurdjević depicts the Hood, red-cloaked and gripping a pistol, being pulled in opposing directions by a golden-hooded figure and a dark-helmeted woman, while a fourth figure watches anxiously from below. Jeff Parker scripts and Kyle Hotz illustrates the interior, with colors by Frank Martin lending the whole affair that brooding, amber-tinged atmosphere the title deserves. If you've been following the Hood's precarious rise through the criminal underworld, "Haunted" looks like exactly the moment the pressure starts closing in from every angle.
