Daredevil: Woman Without Fear #3

History

Writer Erica Schultz returned to Elektra for this four-issue miniseries following her work on Daredevil: Gang War, and was joined by her Hallows' Eve collaborator Michael Dowling on pencils and inks; colorist Dee Cunniffe and letterer Clayton Cowles completed the regular interior team. The series spins directly out of Saladin Ahmed and Aaron Kuder's then-ongoing Daredevil run, specifically the aftermath of Daredevil #11, positioning this issue as part of a coordinated editorial effort to give Elektra her own sustained solo spotlight while Matt Murdock's story continued in the main title. Issue #3 also brought aboard a second penciller, Ivan Fiorelli, for a portion of the pages — a creative seam that at least one contemporary critic noted as slightly disruptive to visual consistency.

• The story conflict between Elektra and Joe Garrison resolves as an 'enemy mine' situation: after Elektra handily defeats Garrison in close combat, both are targeted by Count Nefaria and Silvermane, compelling a temporary truce.
