History

The four-issue limited series was announced in April 2024 as a direct spin-off of Saladin Ahmed and Aaron Kuder's concurrent Daredevil ongoing, with the inciting events of that series' eleventh issue — a confrontation involving Bullseye and the Kingpin — serving as the narrative runway for Elektra's solo mission. Writer Erica Schultz returned to the character she had previously handled in the Daredevil: Gang War miniseries, reuniting with her Hallows' Eve artistic collaborator Michael Dowling; editor Edward Devin Lewis oversaw the project, with David Yardin providing regular covers. Schultz described the miniseries as both a standalone story and an integral chapter within Ahmed's larger Hell's Kitchen saga, noting that groundwork for the plot had been laid as far back as Daredevil #8.
