Daredevil: Woman Without Fear #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeDaredevil: Woman Without Fear (2024) #1 is the opening chapter of the second solo miniseries to showcase Elektra Natchios as the Daredevil — a role she inherited during Chip Zdarsky's acclaimed run — affirming that her tenure under the horns was not a temporary gimmick but a sustained, editorially supported chapter in the character's evolution. The issue is structurally significant as it threads together three interconnected eras of street-level Marvel storytelling: the Zdarsky/Checchetto Daredevil run, Saladin Ahmed and Aaron Kuder's follow-on ongoing, and the David Pepose/Dave Wachter Punisher miniseries, all brought to bear on a single Elektra-centric story. It also marks the first issue in which Joe Garrison operates as the Punisher within the Daredevil corner of the Marvel Universe, placing the character in dramatic tension with Elektra's own struggle to maintain a non-lethal code. As a narrative document, the issue raises pointed questions about identity, legacy, and the cost of heroism for a character still defined, decades on, by Frank Miller's original vision.

Marvel announced the series on April 16, 2024, framing it as a direct spinoff of the Saladin Ahmed and Aaron Kuder Daredevil ongoing, picking up story threads from that run's eleventh issue. Writer Erica Schultz was specifically recruited back to Elektra following her work on Daredevil: Gang War, and she reunited with her Hallows' Eve collaborator Michael Dowling as series artist; Mahmud Asrar provided the main cover. The book was edited by Devin Lewis with Lauren Amaro also credited as editor on later issues, and it ran for four issues concluding in October 2024 before being collected in the trade paperback Daredevil: Woman Without Fear — Bloody Reunion (ISBN 978-1302959180), which also incorporated bonus material from Daredevil (2023) #8.
