Daredevil #24
Chris Samnee's cover for this 2013 issue frames Daredevil in a quietly commanding way — the Man Without Fear stands atop the great armillary sphere of the Atlas statue, surveying the scene below while two bound and helpless figures are tangled within the sphere's rings, with a third slumped at the base. It's a striking image of control and confidence, rendered in Samnee's clean, assured linework with Javier Rodríguez's warm palette giving it an almost retro elegance. Mark Waid's run on Daredevil had been earning well-deserved praise throughout this era, and this issue looks every bit a worthy chapter in that stretch.
