Daredevil #126
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeDaredevil #126 is a dense Bronze Age key that simultaneously plants three significant characters into the Marvel Universe in a single issue: Heather Glenn, who became Matt Murdock's primary romantic interest through the late 1970s and whose tragic arc under Frank Miller's editorial era and Denny O'Neil's pen culminated in one of the darkest character deaths in the title's run; the Torpedo armor itself, the battle-suit that defined a succession of characters across multiple titles for years; and the second Torpedo identity (Brock Jones), an unlikely everyman hero who carried his own storylines in Marvel Premiere and crossed over into Rom. The issue also carries weight as the first in-story appearance of district attorney Blake Tower, a legal-world supporting character who would go on to anchor courtroom plotlines across Daredevil, Spider-Man, and She-Hulk for decades. Heather Glenn's debut here gained renewed cultural relevance in 2025 when the character was adapted for the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again.
In "Flight of the Torpedo!", Daredevil faces off against the acrobatic villain known as the Torpedo, only to find his foe suddenly incapacitated when a wall collapses on him. With the Torpedo's last wish unfulfilled, former pro quarterback Brock Jones steps in, donning the fallen hero's costume to continue the fight—unaware that Daredevil can't tell the difference between them, since he can't see the color of his hair. Written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by Bob Brown, with inks by Klaus Janson and colors by Michele Wolfman, this 1975 classic features a cover by Gil Kane and John Romita, with inks by Frank Giacoia and John Romita.

Writer-editor Marv Wolfman scripted the issue during his prolific mid-1970s tenure on the title, with Bob Brown handling layouts and breakdowns and Klaus Janson — whose inks were already becoming the defining visual texture of the book — providing finished art over Brown's pencils. The cover was penciled by Gil Kane and inked by Frank Giacoia. Wolfman has acknowledged that the Torpedo's rocket-pack concept drew loose inspiration from the 1940s serial character Commando Cody from King of the Rocket Men, though the characters diverge sharply beyond that shared motif. Len Wein was editor-in-chief at Marvel at the time, with Wolfman serving as the issue's credited editor.
