Cyborg #7
In "The Imitation of Life Part Seven: Bionic Betrayal," Cyborg faces a shocking twist as his ally Variant reveals she's been playing both sides all along—her transformation into a synthetic being was no accident, but a calculated move to infiltrate and exploit Boom Tube technology for Fisher’s global conquest. With betrayal in the air and trust shattered, Victor must team up with Variant to stop Fisher’s true agenda, only to find that even after she’s shut down, her fate is far from over—especially with a doppelgänger of Dr. Silas Stone watching from the shadows. Written by John Semper Jr. and illustrated by Paul Pelletier, with inks by Tony Kordos, colors by Guy Major, and letters by Rob Leigh, this gripping issue features a cover by Mike Choi.

Victor is betrayed by Variant, whom he learns has been working with Fisher, and the accident that led to her being transformed into Variant was a ploy on her part to gain access to Boom Tube technology that could be used to transport Fisher's armies anywhere in the world. When Fisher betrays Variant, she and Vic work together to bring him down. Returning to S.T.A.R. Labs, Variant is taken into custody and is shut down. However, the Dr. Silas Stone doppelganger has plans for her.
