"The Man Who Ordered His Own Rub-Out" chronicles Rod Halleck's murder-for-hire operation, which sent killers on assignments with no questions asked and victims never knowing their identity. In 1943, Halleck devises a scheme to make money by organizing a murder ring, recruiting soldiers and operating through a mail drop system where money is exchanged and instructions delivered. The story follows the downfall of this criminal enterprise as authorities close in on Halleck's operation.
