This Charlton crime anthology from 1954 wastes no time making its moral clear — the bold red banner proclaims "you can't get away with murder!" right above the title. The cover, penciled by Joe Shuster and inked by Ray Osrin, unfolds across four vivid panels: a terrified woman threatened by a descending knife, a lone figure cornered at gunpoint on a dark street, muggers lurching out of park shadows, and a police car rolling up to a body on the pavement as bystanders murmur "there's another… cold as a mackerel!" It's a punchy, streetwise snapshot of 1950s crime-comics storytelling at its most atmospheric.
