☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis anthology issue contains three stories: "Radio Patrol: Killer on the Loose," in which officers Tex and Barry pursue a murderous hit-and-run driver who has killed multiple victims and stolen a handkerchief and cheap perfume from a woman; "Terror Under the Big Top," where a circus accident appears connected to sabotage, and characters named Curt and Merry investigate while an escaped snake creates chaos; and an untitled story featuring an elderly man named Uncle John who has devised an elaborate scheme involving wine bottles and glasses to settle an old score by poisoning one glass while disguising which bottle the poison came from.
Sax Wagner, a cunning ex-con fresh from prison, launches a calculated crime wave across the city, positioning himself as the mastermind coordinator for the underworld's most dangerous jobs. When a police detective goes undercover as a fellow criminal to infiltrate Wagner's operation, a dangerous game of deception unfolds as both sides work to outmaneuver each other.
Tex and Barry of the Radio Patrol follow a blood-soaked trail of bullets, a hit-and-run car, and cheap perfume to track down a ruthless killer loose in the city. When a gun registered to small-time informant Li'l Augie surfaces at a murder scene, the officers suspect he's their culprit—but the clues they uncover lead them toward a far more sinister truth about who's really behind the killing spree. It's a cat-and-mouse chase across rooftops and through the streets as the Radio Patrol closes in on a maniac determined to settle an old score.
Curt Chase arrives at Don Crater's Big Top Circus to investigate a string of suspicious "accidents" that have plagued the operation—from poisoned elephants to a collapsed tent—but his investigation takes a dangerous turn when someone tries to silence him permanently by throwing him off a moving train. After a harrowing rescue and reunion with his wife Merry, Curt races back to the circus just as a lion escapes into the arena, setting off a chain of violent confrontations that will expose the saboteurs behind the conspiracy to destroy the Big Top.
When a retired judge is found dead from poisoning, Sergeant Stan Campbell investigates the circumstances surrounding his death—and discovers that the killer used an ingeniously lethal corkscrew to deliver the poison into an unopened bottle of wine. As the sergeant narrows down his suspects among the judge's unusual household staff, all of whom are former convicts, he sets a clever trap to expose the person who sought revenge.
