"A-Okay" depicts Commander Shepard's successful missile launch into space on May 5, 1961, with the achievement announced to the world via television and radio as a national hero's victory. A second story, "Pipe Peril," follows Mrs. Dorothy Perry's distress when her neighbor's daughter falls into an uncapped gas pipe beneath their house, requiring a police emergency rescue operation to retrieve the trapped girl using a rope and noose lowered down the pipe.
