Creepy #8
In "Nineteen," H.P. Lovecraft confronts the terrifying reality behind his own stories when he witnesses Jonah's grotesque transformation after being swallowed by a leviathan near R'lyeh. Written by Doug Moench and illustrated by Kelley Jones, this chilling tale follows Lovecraft as he tries to warn the authorities—only to be dismissed as mad and committed to an asylum, his warnings dismissed as delusions of Cthulhu’s return. The cover, a haunting piece by Richard Corben, captures the story’s unsettling atmosphere.
