Atlas Comics' humor anthology Crazy served up laughs with a ghoulish twist in this 1954 issue, and Joe Maneely's cover sets the tone perfectly. A small man in a green suit politely asks a sinister-looking bartender, "May I have a zombie, please?" — only for an actual lurching, decaying zombie to burst dramatically from behind the bar, the bartender gleefully replying, "I wuz hoping you'd ask!" The gag is warm, witty, and wonderfully macabre, with Bill Everett handling interior duties across the board — writing, drawing, inking, and lettering the whole thing himself.
