“One Shots”

Cracked #236 (July 1988) throws Schwarzenegger and Stallone caricatures into a gloriously chaotic parody mash-up, with the two action titans aboard the S.S. Minnow — armed to the teeth and clearly on anything but a peaceful three-hour tour — while a fourth figure gets tossed overboard into shark-patrolled waters. John Severin's cover art delivers the laughs with his trademark sharp caricature work, capturing the absurdity of blending 1980s action-hero excess with a certain stranded-at-sea sitcom. Inside, the fun continues with contributions from Don Martin, Don Orehek, Bill Wray, and more, rounding out another issue packed with movie and TV parodies, Shut Ups, and Hudd & Dini.
