Countdown to Adventure #2

The second chapter of this eight-part 2007 DC miniseries — spinning directly out of 52 and Countdown — puts the spotlight on a clash the cover announces boldly: Forerunner vs. JLAxis. Ivan Reis and Oclair Albert's cover art delivers the confrontation with real energy, depicting a grey-suited Superman-symbol figure lunging forward center-stage, a fierce red-haired woman in golden costume at lower left, a blue-skinned warrior wielding an energy blade at center-right, and Batman leaping into the fray from the upper corner. Writer Adam Beechen and artist Eddy Barrows continue what looks to be a beautifully chaotic collision of worlds, making this a satisfying chapter for fans of DC's rich interconnected universe of that era.
