Conan the Savage #4

Cover artist Vince Evans delivers a visceral, up-close collision as a bare-chested, muscle-bound Conan grapples hand-to-throat with Rune — a fanged, blue-skinned, armor-clad creature whose clawed grip closes around the Cimmerian's face. The tagline "Face to Face with Rune" says it all: this November 1995 issue pits Robert E. Howard's barbarian against one of Marvel's more unsettling supernatural predators in what the cover promises will be a brutal, personal struggle. Inside, Charles Dixon scripts and Enrique Alcatena provides both pencils and inks for "The Wind from the Stars," with colors by Paul Becton rounding out what looks to be a dark, atmospheric chapter in the series.
