Conan the Barbarian #95

A fearsome reddish cave creature — all beak, claws, and coiled muscle — pins a dark-haired woman to the cavern floor in John Buscema's gripping cover for this February 1979 Marvel issue. A small inset panel in the upper corner shows Conan charging sword in hand, poised to answer the cover's own urgent promise: he fights alone against the hordes of the Beast-King of Abombi. Roy Thomas scripts "The Return of Amra," and with Ernie Chan inking Buscema's pencils, the raw energy of sword-and-sorcery adventure comes through in every line.
