In "The Stalker Amid the Sands," Conan treks across the scorching desert toward Zamboula, driven by the trail of Isparana and the stolen Eye of Erlik. After fending off two robbers at an oasis, he encounters the Turanian soldier Arsil and his men, who are hunting the same killers—and offer a dangerous shortcut through the mountains, guarded by a sand demon who demands a deadly price.
