Conan Saga #43

Part 2 of the "Conan the Buccaneer" storyline arrives in this October 1990 issue of Conan Saga, presenting Bob Larkin's vivid cover painting of the Cimmerian locked in savage combat with a massive, fang-filled plant creature whose tendrils coil around him — sword raised, fist clenched, surrounded by scattered skulls. Behind him, a woman in scarlet struggles against the grasping green vines of what appears to be an entire field of carnivorous flora. It's a fittingly primal image for "The Quest for the Cobra Crown," with interior art from the formidable pairing of John Buscema and Tony DeZuniga bringing Roy Thomas's adaptation to life.
