This volume collects Conan el Bárbaro #39, part of Planeta DeAgostini's Spanish-language reprint series of the classic 1980s Marvel Conan the Barbarian comic. It continues the adventures of Robert E. Howard's iconic Cimmerian warrior in the Hyborian Age, featuring sword-and-sorcery action and artwork characteristic of the original Marvel run.
Conan the Barbarian #36 (1984) features the story "El sacrificio de la diosa," written by J. M. DeMatteis and Monserrat Carracedo, with art by John Buscema and Bob McLeod, and coloring by George Roussos. The issue presents Conan in a tale of myth and ritual, illustrated with the distinctive style of John Buscema, whose cover art also appears in ink.
In "El sacrificio de la diosa," Conan awakens with no memory, misled by Princess Prem into believing he is Kalna-Fakir. As he is drawn into a deadly ritual meant to sacrifice Atreah, the truth begins to unravel—and with it, the fate of the city of Mreead-zza.
In "La ciudad en la que el tiempo se detuvo," Conan and Atreah stumble upon a city where every soul is frozen in mid-motion, only to be joined by two curious boys, Jonwalli and Dukenrik. As they navigate the eerie stillness, they confront the sorcerers Nareobbo and Shuin-Shann, whose deadly rivalry escalates into violence. With the city’s frozen inhabitants watching in silence, the four must survive the wizards’ clash and break the spell before time itself collapses.
