This volume collects issue #39 of Planeta DeAgostini's 1984 series of Conan el Bárbaro, continuing the Spanish-language reprints of the classic Marvel Comics adventures of Robert E. Howard's iconic Cimmerian warrior. The issue features a standalone story from the original run, showcasing Conan's brutal exploits in the Hyborian Age.
Conan the Barbarian #35 (1984) features the titular warrior in "¡La mano de Erlik!" — a tale written by J. M. DeMatteis and Mercedes Estefano, with artwork by John Buscema, inks by Bob McLeod, and colors by George Roussos. The cover, also by John Buscema, depicts Conan in a striking, action-oriented scene.
In "¡La mano de Erlik!", Conan crosses paths with Vonndhar, a mortal warrior cursed with immortality by the dark god Erlik. Tasked with judging the fate of a woman named Jenna, Vonndhar makes a final, fatal choice—sacrificing himself for her, only to be met with cold indifference. Shaken by her lack of gratitude, Conan turns his back on Jenna and sets off alone, the weight of the moment echoing through the wilds.
In "El precio de la perfección," Conan is ensnared by the cunning Princess Prem, who strips him of his memory and rebrands him as Kalna-Fakir. As he’s drawn into a deadly ritual meant to sacrifice the priestess Atreah, the truth begins to stir beneath the spell—until Conan’s buried past erupts, shattering the illusion and unleashing a fury that topples a goddess and her city.
