This volume collects Conan el Bárbaro #39, part of Planeta DeAgostini's Spanish-language reprint series of the classic Marvel Comics run. It continues the adventures of Robert E. Howard's iconic Cimmerian warrior in the Hyborian Age, featuring sword-and-sorcery tales originally published in the 1980s.
Conan the Barbarian #10 (1983) features the story "La ciudad en la tormenta," written by Robert E. Howard and Roy Thomas, with art by John Buscema and Ernie Chan, and coloring by Michele Wolfman. The issue includes contributions from Ángeles Aledo and Moncho Cordero, with lettering by Agustín Zorzo. The cover, penciled by Gil Kane and inked by Ernie Chan, presents a striking image of Conan in a storm-laden cityscape.
In "La ciudad en la tormenta," Conan, Belit, and their corsair crew stand against the invading forces of the ruthless pirate Auro and his Argossean raiders as the storm-lashed island city of Kelka teeters on the edge of ruin. When the battle is won, their victory is short-lived—captured by the treacherous Kelkan ruler Akkheba, who offers them wine that soon clouds their minds and binds their wills.
In "El altar de los condenados," Conan and Belit flee the cursed island city of Kelka, where they free the captive Astarta before the city is swallowed by a wrathful sea-god. As the island crumbles, betrayal strikes when Kawaku turns on them, forcing Belit to confront Akkheba in a deadly clash.
