Conan #7
Tomás Giorello's cover for this 2009 Dark Horse volume sets a vivid, blood-soaked tone: a young, fierce Conan strides forward through a fiery red sky, twin blades drawn and dripping, while a dark-haired woman warrior at his side grips her own bloodied weapons with equal resolve. A bearded elder warrior crouches to one side, defeated foes lie strewn beneath them, and the brooding, cold-eyed face of a larger figure looms above it all beneath a pale moon — Cimmeria rendered as a harsh, unforgiving homeland. Writer Tim Truman and colorist José Villarrubia round out the creative team behind this savage return to the wild northern lands that shaped the Barbarian.
