Comics Parade #1
This French collection from Arédit-Artima reprints classic DC superhero tales, featuring the Flash in his own adventure alongside stories from the New Gods, Sun Devils, and Vigilante. It's part of the publisher's 'Comics Parade' series, which brought translated American comics to French readers in the mid-1980s.
In "Une fable pour notre époque," Jack Kirby crafts a mythic journey as Orion, bearer of the Astro Force, is called to New Genesis by High-Father and guided by Metron to confront a looming threat. Sent to Apokolips, Orion uncovers Darkseid’s plan to invade Earth and mind-scan humanity in search of the Anti-Life Equation’s secret. With Kirby’s dynamic storytelling and inks by Vince Colletta, this tale blends cosmic stakes with a timeless struggle, all rendered in bold, expressive art. The cover by Keith Pollard captures the epic scale with striking detail.
In "La guerre des dieux," Orion, wielder of the Astro Force, is called to New Genesis by High-Father and guided by Metron to confront a threat from beyond: Darkseid, who has come to Earth to hunt for the Anti-Life Equation hidden in a human mind. With the help of freed captives Lanza, Shane, Lincoln, and Lockman, Orion races to stop the tyrant’s mind-scan before the fate of humanity is sealed.
In "Les tueurs de planètes," diplomat Rik Sunn discovers his homeworld, Wolfholme, has been erased by the Sauron raiders led by the tyrant Karvus Khun. With vengeance in his heart, he commandeers a vessel and sets course for the front, joined by the enigmatic Scyla and the reluctant Anomie Zitar.
