Conan est prisonnier sur la Roue. Il parvient à s’échapper avec Gath, un jeune homme dont la fiancée a été enlevée le jour de son mariage par le noble Thoyaga. Gath trompe Conan pour qu’il l’aide à s’introduire dans le château de Thoyaga, lui disant que le noble garde un grand trésor. Malheureusement, Frikka, s’est bien installée au château et n’a pas l’intention de rentrer chez elle pour une vie de pauvreté.
